PETERSFIELD 0

Regional 2 South Central – match 5 • 24 October 2026

Five weeks ago, the sun shone and it was short sleeve shirt order.  On Saturday, it was full rain coat, woolly hat and umbrellas as Storm Austen threw its worst on Water Lane but Tottonians rode it out superbly, scoring six tries and collecting a clean sheet in defeating Petersfield 36-0.

2nd XV MOVE TO WITHIN A POINT OF LEADERS WITH EXCELLENT NEW MILTON WIN
Tottonians 2s made it four wins from five and ended New Milton unbeaten start to the campaign with a battling 12-10 victory at Ashley Recreation Ground which moves them to within a point of the table toppers.

In atrocious conditions, tries from former New Milton player Harry Duell-Merritt and fellow front rower Scott Derrington – it was that sort of a day -coupled with Rich Colmer’s conversion was enough to seal the win.

It was a fourth win in a row for Colmer’s side and puts them in great shape ahead of another difficult fixture, at home to Eastleigh, next weekend.

3s WIN FRIENDLY AFTER BASINGSTOKE PULL OUT
The 3rd XV moved up to second place (or equal first) as Basingstoke 3s pulled out of the scheduled game in Counties 5 Hampshire but they still managed to get a game in and returned home with a 17-12 victory over Eastleigh 2s in a friendly.

Tries from Simon Williams, Player of the match Alfie Glover and Charlie Whitlock, on his old stamping ground, was enough to see the visitors to the victory over a game Eastleigh side, who were provided with six players from our 21-player squad to level the numbers.

COLTS CONTINUE BRILLIANT RUN WITH GREAT AWAY WIN AT PORTSMOUTH
With a lengthy break in the league campaign, Tottonians Colts travelled to Portsmouth without a number of players on Hampshire trials duty but still managed to overturn the Division 1 side 24-22 with a brilliant display of top class rugby.

Giving players a chance to shine, and some in different and unfamiliar positions, the young Totts side ran in four tries through Ollie Turvey, Charlie Presland, Tom Blazeby and Ollie Johnson while Turvey kicked two conversions.

Director of Youth Rugby Louis Brencher was thrilled with the performance, proclaiming, “I can’t believe we won that with the team that was missing a number of our regulars and players playing in various positions, so to beat a side from the league above is a great effort and the lads should be very proud.”
