Mud doesn’t stop us Totts!

It was the start of the Junior Festival period and it was a seriously muddy one at New Milton but the Totts juniors did the club proud!  Here are a few words from the coaches …..

UNDER 7s
Under 7 had a good turn out with 8 players able to play two games each in teams of 4.  The teams worked really well to pass the ball and keep game going. They loved game even in the rain and mud.

UNDER 9s
Tottonians under 9s had a great turnout for the New Milton festival enabling us to field two 10 player squads. Both squads had six games against teams from New Milton, Locks Heath, and Wimborne as well as a club game against each other.

From the first whistle, the enthusiasm from all was clear to see, despite the extremely wet and muddy conditions. The players demonstrated excellent passing, strong tackling and determined running with the ball. Several well-worked tries brought cheers from the sidelines, where parents created a positive and encouraging atmosphere throughout the day.

Despite the conditions and a few bumps and bruises, there were plenty of smiling (and very muddy) faces. A great effort from Totts!

UNDER 10s
The U10s have recently seen increasing numbers, with a third of those who came to New Milton attending their first tournament!

End to end play in the four games, saw sterling efforts in defence and a number of great tries.  Sadly the conditions disguised highlighting any individual performances as all embraced the rain and mud – sorry parents!

Despite this they were still smiling at the end – superstars!

UNDER 11s
Despite the weather conditions and having to play three games back to back, the U11s showed amazing comradery, commitment and grit to overcome all of this.

Defence held firm for many phases, passes put players into space and some worldie tries were scored.

This is the best we have seen them play, individually and collectively.

Very proud coaches! (who apologise to parents for wrecking their cars and washing machines with all the mud, send New Milton the bill 🤣)
